Gloria Prado Pino is a doctor and current Secretary of Health in Colombia. She is the first Afro-Colombian to receive a Master's Degree in Medical Sciences in Global Health from Harvard University. In this video she explains her motivation to study, her challenges as a student in college and her ultimate career goal for her community. This activity has been created for LS 211 (3rd semester) but it can be adapted for 4th semester as well.

His actions were condemned and he was imprisoned due to the graphic novel La pesadilla de Obi, a piece of art that criticizes the socioeconomic situation in Equatorial Guinea and Teodoro Obiang, who has been president for 40 years. This text brings us closer to the use of art in one little studied old Spanish colony that maintains Spanish as an official language as well as Portuguese and French.
